Climate

Andorra has a high-altitude mountain climate. Almost the entire country sits above 900 metres in the eastern Pyrenees. Winters are cold and snowy (perfect for skiing at Grandvalira, one of the largest ski areas in southern Europe), with temperatures often below freezing from December to February. Summers are pleasantly cool (18–24°C), dry, and sunny. The capital Andorra la Vella, at 1,023 metres, is the highest capital city in Europe. There is no coastal area and no heat-island effect. Expect significant UV exposure year-round due to altitude.
